Many people have reported on Citroen forums that the fuel door won't always open when the interior button is pressed. here's a very simple workaround.
Replacement: tailgate struts – Citroen Xsara Picasso. Recommended sequence of steps: Step 1. Open the boot lid. Step 2. Support the boot lid. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. Step 3. Release the circlip connecting the gas strut to the car body.
